For those of you that missed either Lord of the Flies, Bang!Bang! You're Dead or Wind in the Willows - what on earth were you doing instead ? Many thanks to everyone that helped make these productions a reality and especially to those that attended the performances.

Help Needed

As we rapidily approach our debut production at teh Corn Exchange, we desparately need volunteers to sell advertising space for our production programmes. This isn't as daunting as it sounds and the funds raised make a significant contribution to our production costs. Interested ? Please drop an email through to info@siyt.co.uk.

Journey's End - Director's Note for Company and Cast

Because of the nature of this play, it will have a very different feel. We would like all members to research their own family history with regard to World War I. We will be making a display of artefacts, photographs and documents brought in by members of SIYT.

October Half Term - Please keep free for rehearsals. I am anticipating to rehearse Monday to Friday, lOam - 4pm.

Also please keep the weekend 30th~31st October free. We will be looking into the possibility of a visit to France, and that may be over the weekend, On one day during that week we will also be visiting the Imperial War Museum, London, probably Tuesday 26k” October. We will be spending the day looking at the First World War, and then will aim to go the theatre in the evening.

It is absolutely vital that you attend the rehearsals that you are required to be at. Please check the schedule and make sure that you alert me to any potential problems on July 25~, or August 31~ at the latest. If there are problems with attendance we will change the cast. This piece is very challenging and it is a small cast. This means that every single person is important.

Preparation for performances will start at 17.00 with Wardrobe and Makeup Call followed by Director’s Call & Notes at 18.00. The Thursday performance will be on Armistice Day and (with your school's permission), we will take part in a Remembrance Event in St Ives Town Centre and the Evening performance will conclude with Civic Act of Remembrance - all ticket sales will be donated to the Help for Hereos Campaign. Saturday's evening performance will conclude with Festival of Rembembrance

14th November - Remembrance Sunday - Cast and company will be expected to participate in Civic Remembrance Service in the Market Square.

Fundraising

Good News - SIYT is more financially secure than Lehmann Brothers, but that's still not a great position! We need people that can help us with fundraising - we're not talking about the odd jumble sale, we desparately need some new ideas that can radically change our finacial position and spread the net on which we draw. Have contacts, have Ideas - Get Involved! Please drop us a line if you can make a difference.

Volunteers

Although SIYT is a limited company and a registered charity, it does not pay salaries or fees to anyone that helps to run the group - that includes Jonathan and Brian. The mad fools that you will see tearing their hair out during production week, do it all for free. Any help that anyone can offer is gratefully received - that might be in taking an ad in our programme, helping with front of house at a performance or dismantling the set after a show. All parents are welcome to help in any way they can - it's not a closed shop.

You’ve got our number – Why don’t you use it ?

07773 885609 - This is the dedicated telephone number for you to contact SIYT on Thursday Nights or Rehearsal Days to advise us of any delay in getting there or non attendance ~  please use this number.
