Following a successful run in St. Ives, tour in the North West of England in 2008 and near sell-out preview show, SIYT returned to the Edinburgh Fringe at the prestigious Sweet Grand in Edinburgh College of Arts. The largest company at Fringe 2009 produced a riot of colour and sound. Whilst audiences experienced the Ensemble Wall of Sound in the perfect setting for this "inspiring and infectious" piece, the Royal Mile was scammed into believing that a French Starlet 'Bernadette Subirous' was visiting the Festival and onlookers marveled at SIYT's Visions amongst the performers and flyers - and the poster was voted in the Top 5 at the 2009 Fringe. |

French Starlet Bernadette Subirous on the Royal Mile
Fringe Organisers on the Royal Mile were scammed into believing that a new French Starlet, Bernadette Soubirous, was appearing on the Royal Mile. Chauffeured onto the Mile, the celebrity was in fact Bethan Morris of St. Ives Youth Theatre who plays Bernadette in Vision at Sweet ECA. In getting clearance to drive onto the Mile, a local Police Officer told Vision’s Artistic Director that he recognised Bernadette and thought he’d seen one of her movies! Mobbed by fans, from the Vision cast, the Fringe’s newest star was quickly ushered into Starbucks who apologised for keeping her waiting as they hadn’t been told of her imminent arrival. |
